Editorial Policy
Our readers' trust is the most valuable thing we have. These are the standards we hold ourselves to.
Last updated: October 1, 2026
Accuracy and sourcing
We verify facts before publication and prefer primary sources: official statistics, peer-reviewed research, court and regulatory documents, company filings and on-the-record interviews. Where we rely on secondary reporting, we attribute it. Claims we cannot verify are not published as fact.
Independence
Editorial decisions are made by our editors alone. Advertisers, sponsors and commercial partners have no say over what we cover or how. Staff may not accept gifts, payments or free travel that could compromise — or appear to compromise — their independence. Review products loaned by manufacturers are returned or donated.
Fairness and balance
We aim to represent differing viewpoints fairly and give people and organisations that are the subject of significant criticism a reasonable opportunity to respond. We distinguish clearly between news reporting, analysis and opinion.
Review process
- Every article is assigned to a section editor who approves the idea and sources.
- The draft is fact-checked and edited for clarity, fairness and style.
- Health, finance and safety-related articles receive an additional review by a senior editor.
- Articles are updated when material facts change, and the update date is displayed.
Product reviews and buying guides
Our recommendations are based on hands-on testing where possible, specifications, expert interviews and aggregated owner feedback. We explain our criteria in each guide. We do not accept payment for placement in our guides.
Use of technology
Our journalists may use software tools for research, transcription and spelling, but every article is written, reviewed and approved by a human editor who is accountable for its accuracy. Illustrative images are labelled by context and are not used to depict real news events.
Corrections
We correct errors promptly and transparently. See our Corrections Policy for details, or email corrections@demosite3.com.
